Interview with Stéphanie

Making the move

Every entrepreneur works hard to earn the trust of new clients. We are no exception. The experience we aim to deliver to our clients throughout the transition process is service-oriented. I have often said that web hosting is anything but a commodity product. Making the move is not easy.

Most clients with a web project starting up or growing do not have the knowledge or expertise of our “Geeks” in cloud management to develop it. Whether it’s installing or configuring a PHP or SQL function required by your WordPress site or web application, or migrating or transferring your service to a more powerful and better-suited web host for your project, our clients can count on us. After all, we are experts in cloud management.

We assist our clients at every stage of their web project. I would like to share with you this interview with Stéphanie, who recounts her experience after deciding to “make the move”.

A customer experience

Recently, we had a great experience with Stéphanie Racine, an AutoCAD specialist, who wanted to move her web hosting service for her website. This interview with Stéphanie recounts her DATAenligne experience from her sailboat somewhere in the Caribbean Sea.

Etienne F Carrier (EFC)
Thank you for agreeing to take a few minutes to share your recent experience with DATAenligne as part of an interview with Stéphanie. First, and to give the reader some context, can you tell us about your project and your current situation?

Stéphanie Racine (SR) My specialty is not the web at all. I created a company that offers specialized drawing and AutoCAD training services. I create detailed plans to facilitate permit applications for all types of residential renovation and construction projects. I also offer specific AutoCAD training and have created tools to simplify the use of AutoCAD software.

In short, my website aims to achieve two (2) main objectives: – promote my specialized drawing and AutoCAD plan services; – and direct my student clientele towards my training courses and various free tools. That’s CAD-SR.

EFC
How would you describe the challenges you faced with the web?

SR
My web-related challenges are linked to web hosting and its updates. Currently, I am undertaking a major project. With my family, we have embarked on a journey to sail and live on our sailboat to discover the world. I quickly needed to resolve the web issues so I wouldn’t have to worry about them anymore. Furthermore, my contract was due to expire during my trip. That became a significant concern.

Before moving my web hosting services, I was with GoDaddy. Since they didn’t offer the services I needed, I then started looking for a local provider. I prefer to work with a local company rather than an American one. I wanted to ensure I had full support for updating my website’s environment to avoid issues related, in particular, to security.

Even though I don’t know much about the web, I needed to find a provider I could trust. Like many entrepreneurs, we just want things to work so we can focus on our business. That’s why I made the switch.

EFC
Did you have other options?

SR
In fact, my options were not very extensive: either I stayed with my initial provider, or I changed hosts, or I handed over full management to a web entrepreneur. The last option proved to be quite expensive. Since I want my business to run smoothly, I opted for a web host change.

EFC
And why did you choose DATAenligne?

SR
In one of the business groups on Facebook, I asked for recommendations. I received several, and I did my homework. After contacting several of them, I was given prices and feedback. DATAenligne was one of the references I connected with.

I particularly appreciated the simplicity with which the different scenarios were presented to me, as well as the answers to my questions and expressed requests. Furthermore, their service prices are competitive. But what I wanted most was to have good communication with my web provider.

EFC
How did the transition go?

SR
My first communication with DATAenligne dates back to 2019. I received a proposal and sound advice. I was reassured that each step of moving my web hosting service would proceed smoothly. My contract with GoDaddy was due to expire several months after I left on the sailboat.

The DATAenligne team assured me they would take care of everything on the day of the transition. In early March 2021, all the work was done simply, despite the great geographical distance. Our communications took place via Facebook. From my perspective, I never felt that distance because everything went wonderfully well. And quickly too.

EFC
Since the change, what have been the most significant gains you’ve made?

SR
The complete trust in my provider is already enormous. To be frank, I don’t know anything about the rest; I leave the good care of my website in the hands of the team.

EFC
Precisely, in a few words, how would you describe your experience with the DATAenligne team before, during, and after changing web hosts for your website?

SR
Efficient, fast, courteous, and truly affordable for all services. I believe these few words highlight my appreciation and satisfaction with having made the MOVE.

EFC
Thank you for this interview with Stéphanie and for your trust.

The entire DATAenligne team wishes you fair winds.
